AN ODE TO ROMEO & JULIET (EPIC PART 4) - FINALE
68
On June 3, 2008, I began to experiment with poetry in a unique way, at that time I had already written 315 poems, which depicted all kinds of genre. Most of my poems were in first person even if not at all related to me. So I had a new idea. I decided to write poems that will depict a love story between two people. It was sort of like my perspective on Romeo and Juliet, only more original. I like to call this collection of poems very own Broadway Musical. A complete original depiction of Romeo and Juliet, the ups, the downs and the imperfections of love. This is a complete work of fiction and it took me alone an year to write just 24 poems of this Epic Story. To date I have written about 366 poems. Whether they ever get published or see any real recognition, that remains to be seen. Till then I leave it for my hubbers to read. It consists of 4 parts. I hope you enjoy it.
AN ODE TO ROMEO & JULIET (EPIC PART 4) - FINALE
Enticed
Poor Juliet enticed by Romeo’s charm,
Seemed unaware of the potential harm,
She gives our Romeo yet another chance,
But even now he cannot make it, mellowing out the romance,
“I waited and waited and waited some more”
“Your priorities to me have become clearer than before”
“It is good that you have your priorities straight”
“Perhaps next time for you I should not wait”

Romeo’s Version
Our Romeo’s version is quite different,
Almost as if nothing our Juliet’s tears had meant,
In this moment all alone,
He appears to be living in a world of his own,
“I wish I could tell you that which my heart speaks of”
“I wish I could stop time when with you”
“In every face I see your face”
“In every name, I hear your name”
“In every shadow I see your reflection”
“Life suddenly has a new meaning to me”
“You exist in everything I see”

Poet’s Advice To Romeo & Juliet
Our Romeo and Juliet seem to be facing trouble,
Looks like finally time has burst their fantasy bubble,
Looks like this poet’s advice is needed here,
If you take you loved ones for granted you will push them away I fear,
Those who love you shall have the most faith in you,
But when you disappoint them they will be the ones most hurt too,
Even in their silent tears, you will see no answer,
Your uncanny acts will push them away and you will call it transfer,
Of affections you thought they had for you,
You will blame them for not being there through and through.
They were the gems you confused as stepping stones,
Even your harsh words did not break their bones,
They are the ones you ditch time and again,
They are the ones you take for granted and cause so much pain,
Call it their insanity or love for you,
No matter how far you push them, they will always be there for you.

Time To End
Our Juliet gathers all her strength to face Romeo,
She thinks it is only right for how she feels, he must know,
“I loved thee my Romeo from oh so very long”
“I used to believe time will make our bond strong”
“But sometimes, thou I do not understand”
“Why in front of people you act so, am I not who you demand?”
“Why do thy make it hard for me to read thou?”
“Do I threaten thee? Does my presence overwhelm you some how?”
“Tell me why do thou care for others so?”
“That when thy hurt me, thee do not even come to know.”

The Ending Is Near
“There were many a days where I had many a sleepless night”
“The fear of not holding thou gave me quite a fright”
Our Romeo explained emotionally,
As our Juliet remained stoic, she listened quietly,
“If ever did I fall asleep, awake I would in a cold sweat”
“Not being with thou is what I mostly fret”
“You are most integrated in my veins than blood itself”
“I could never hurt thou if I tried for myself”
“I will walk with thee all the way even if no incentive I receive”
“Please do not ask me to choose, do not leave me to grieve,
“Ever since childhood never did I point at something I wanted”
“Always afraid of a possibility of “NO” was by what I was haunted”
“And today after so many years when I chose you”
“My chances of winning this gamble are just a few”
“For I play a risky game where winners win all & losers win none”
“The way I love thou, neither I have, nor will I ever love any one”
Romeo tries to maintain his composure as he held back his tears,
He knew Juliet was unconvinced & about to say what he most fears,
“I wonder if I asked too much from God when I asked to be with you”
“Neither is this working out nor will it ever too”
“I am afraid the time has come for us to part”
“No one can ever hurt me this much as you did from the start”
“I bid thee farewell and good luck too”
“No one has ever caused me as much pain as have you”

Conclusion
Everything that has a beginning has an end, yes, that is true,
But whether or not every end had a beginning very few knew,
For stories tell you of creatures you have neither heard of nor seen,
Tales of far off places you will never go to or have ever been,
With this I come to a conclusion of my play,
Perhaps Romeo and Juliet were never meant to stay,
See love is a gamble yet it is no game,
If and when it ends, for that there is no one to blame,
Having a reality check is only fair,
After all tales of Princes, Kingdoms and Myths will get you nowhere.
